About the Event

 RCPsych Perinatal & Infant Mental Health Training

An overview of commonly encountered mental health issues in pregnancy and after delivery and the impact that these disorders may have on the infant and the rest of the family unit. A multi-disciplinary approach to the management of these disorders will be illustrated with workshops and practice scenarios.  More in-depth perinatal-related issues such as pre-conception counselling, the use of psychotropic medications in the perinatal period, parent-infant relationships, and service development will be also included.

Intended Audience: All healthcare professionals in contact with mothers, babies/infants and fathers, including midwives, nurses, psychiatric nurses, family doctors, paediatricians, obstetricians, social workers and psychiatrists.
